The NZUS Council extends its warmest wishes to our friends in the United States as they celebrate the 250th anniversary of Independence Day.

The Fourth of July marks a historic milestone and an opportunity to celebrate the enduring partnership between New Zealand and the United States.

For generations, our two countries have built a relationship founded on strong people-to-people connections, growing trade and investment, and close cooperation across a wide range of shared interests. We are proud to support a partnership that continues todeliver benefits for both nations.

This week, we are also delighted to welcome the new United States Ambassador to New Zealand, Jared Novelly. We look forward to working with Ambassador Novelly to advance the bilateral relationship.

As our friends across the United States celebrate 250 years of history, resilience and opportunity, we wish everyone a happy Independence Day and look forward to another year of strengthening the close friendship between our two countries.
