It is great to see that the government has listened to the message from business leaders about the need to amend the Foreign Investment Fund rules to remove tax barriers for new migrants and returning expatriates, particularly in the start-up and tech sectors.

This is a step in the right direction to making New Zealand a more attractive place for talented people to come to live and invest and help grow our economy. We look forward to reviewing the detail of the proposal when it is released as part of the Parliamentary Tax Bill later this year.
