We were delighted to host Pete McKenzie, the inaugural NZUS Council Media Fellowship winner, in the country’s capital for the first of three fireside chats across the country. The chat was moderated by Council Executive Director Fiona Cooper.

Thanks to our partners Penelope Borland (pictured below) and Fulbright New Zealand and University of Wellington Law School in the historic Old Government Building.

Supported by the Fellowship programme, Pete visited the US earlier this year and shared his views based on discussions with a wide range of contacts in the US public and private sectors.

Many thanks to those that joined us for a thoughtful conversation about the bilateral relationship between New Zealand and the United States, including how far it’s come and future opportunities to advance our common interests.
