Today’s discussion is with Evan Osnos.
Evan is a staff writer at The New Yorker where he writes about foreign affairs and politics and has recently just written the book “Joe Biden: The Life, the Run, and What Matters Now”.
It’s a timely book providing a concise examination of President-elect Biden based on lengthy interviews with Biden himself, and on revealing conversations with more than a hundred others, including President Barack Obama, Cory Booker, Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, and a range of progressive activists, advisers, opponents, and Biden family members.
I’ve just finished reading the book, it’s a great read, very accessible, and you do come away feeling like you’ve got a real insight into the man and his character. Definitely put it on your summer reading lists or for the Christmas stockings.
We cover a lot during the discussion with Evan including Joe Biden’s personal story and tragedies, what he’s guided by, his relationship with the Senate, his understanding of the centre ground, China, trade, Obama and much much more.
