New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MFAT)’s latest snapshot reports Arizona is emerging as one of the US’s fastest-growing economic hubs.
Positioned between California and Mexico, Arizona’s trade flows rose 12% in 2024 to over NZ$56 billion. With more than NZ$359b invested in semiconductors, the state leads the US in advanced manufacturing and innovation.
Competitive taxes, a strong talent pipeline, and proactive international engagement make Arizona attractive for New Zealand businesses. Opportunities lie in agri-tech, fintech, bioscience, healthcare, logistics, aerospace, and defence. With 1,400+ Kiwis already in Arizona, its role as a hub for New Zealand companies in the US will only expand.
