Foreign Minister Winston Peters spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier today. The discussion covered a wide range of issues central to the New Zealand–United States relationship, including defence, trade, and development.
The call also addressed regional priorities, following the Pacific Islands Forum meetings in Suva, as well as international developments in Gaza and Ukraine.
Ministerial-level engagement of this kind highlights the importance of continued cooperation between New Zealand and the United States on shared challenges in the Pacific and beyond.
